13.1 Mile Race… on Thanksgiving Day 2006

Posted by pcidss on September 28, 2006

marathonHalf a marathon… That is the new goal for the next 12 weeks. Jill and I are training for a half-marathon that we will run on Thanksgiving Day. While 13 miles + a few yards is tough as it is, the training we are following has us running nearly everyday with weekly miles starting at 15 and working their way up pretty quickly. Needless to say, we will have run 100+ miles over the next 12 weeks, as we train for the event.

We are following the Halhigdon training program. If anyone is running this event in Atlanta or has any tips on running these distances, please post!

    Casie,

Thank you for the tip!!! As the race gets closer any advice for race day are greatly appreciated. I am also looking beyond the half and considering the full marathon. The most challenging part of training is the drastic change in weather, and the adjustment of running in the dark.

    Thanks again,

    James
