A couple of weeks ago I finished reading, Chasing the Rabbit: How Market Leaders Outdistance the Competition and How Great Companies Can Catch Up and Win. I enjoyed the book and found numerous sections to be highly applicable and adaptable to the technology, governance world that I live in. Unfortunately the author spends a great deal of time discussing manufacturers, so one has to truly dig deep to grab the core pieces to fit into IT in general.
The book is extremely easy to read and I particularly found the chapter on Problem Solving and Improvement especially good. Another area that leaped from the pages was the discussions surrounding NR, and their ability to Learn to Succeed. A vastly inspiring section and one that I have subsequently begun to apply to my recent new venture.
Bottom line: Go buy the book and read it with a pen in hand. Keep your eyes open around pages 118, 151, 165, and 193.
Thanks to the author for the insight,
